If you are travelling by train, the nearest station is Namkhana, which is about 11 km away from Gangasagar. You can take a local train from Sealdah Station to Namkhana and then hire a taxi to reach Gangasagar.

You can also travel to Gangasagar by boat. The government of West Bengal operates regular boat services from Kolkata to Gangasagar during the period of Makar Sankranti. The journey takes around 10 hours and is a great way to experience the stunning beauty of the River Ganges.
