FAQs About Turkey Tour Packages
  • Q1.

If I land in Istanbul late at night, will airport transfers still operate?

Istanbul Airport Transfers are available for you at any time, even after midnight. Istanbul Airport remains operational all day. We can organise your private transfer based on when you arrive. Beforehand, the drivers monitor the flight schedules and alter the pickup timings if the flight gets late or lands early. Overnight stays at the airport are not necessary for late arrivals unless requested.

  • Q2.

How much free time do I get in each city during the trip?

There will be a pre-defined schedule for sightseeing in the morning and free time in the evening. The itinerary has visits during the daytime; generally speaking, evenings are free unless it is a fixed event like a show or flight. You may use that time for local markets, short walks, or rest. The itinerary does not plan for activities on two consecutive days.

  • Q3.

Can I choose my own hotels instead of the suggested ones?

You can ask for specific hotels if they are in your budget category and have availability to book dates. Booking can proceed with your choice if you share preferred names before confirmation. Depending on the hotel prices on your travel dates, a price change may apply.  Once verification is done for tickets and rooms, a modification charge may apply for the changes.

  • Q4.

What happens if my domestic flight inside Turkey gets delayed?

Domestic delays rarely affect the full route because intercity flights stay under two hours and operate multiple times daily. If a delay occurs, local ground transfers adjust accordingly. In case of cancellation, alternative flights on the same route operate the same day. The schedule includes buffer time between city shifts to avoid loss of sightseeing hours.

  • Q5.

Is it easy to manage luggage when moving between cities?

Yes, luggage movement is fairly easy as most internal transfers use short-haul flights instead of long road Trips. Airlines permit cabin and check-in bags according to ticket rules. Hotels will store your bags if you show up before check-in. In most major cities, transfers pick up and drop off at hotel entrances.

  • Q6.

What documents should I carry physically during the trip?

You need to carry your original passport and printed visa with you at all times. They can be asked by immigration officers during internal hotel check-ins. Make sure you save a digital copy on your phone.

    • Passport with a valid visa stamp or an e-visa printout.
    • Return flight ticket copy showing confirmed dates.
    • Hotel booking confirmations matching the visa application.
    • Travel insurance document covering the full stay.

  • Q7.

Can I add an extra city after the itinerary is confirmed?

Definitely, you can request an addition before the issue of final flight tickets. After the flights and hotels are confirmed, adding a city will mean reissuing tickets and amending reservations. The change may affect the overall pricing and market flow. It is ideal to confirm all locations before filing for the visa and internal booking.

  • Q8.

How much walking is involved during sightseeing days?

The sightseeing days will include moderate walking, especially on the narrow streets of old towns or on archaeological sites. You might encounter stone paths and rough surfaces like ruins and valley trails.  You have to wear comfortable footwear.

    Expect:

    • One to three kilometres of walking during city tours.
    • Gradual slopes in old town areas.
    • Uneven ground in the valley and ruin sites.
    • Standing time during guided explanations.

  • Q9.

If balloon flights are cancelled due to weather, do I get a refund?

Yes, licensed operators refund the full balloon amount if authorities cancel flights due to weather conditions. Cancellation decisions come from the local aviation body early in the morning. Refunds are usually processed through the original payment method. Alternative morning attempts may be arranged if your schedule allows another free day in Cappadocia.

  • Q10.

Can I pay for optional activities in INR during the trip?

No, local payments inside Turkey must be made in Turkish Lira or by international card. INR is not accepted in shops or activity counters. You can exchange currency at Istanbul Airport, city exchange offices, or withdraw local currency using international debit or credit cards.

  • Q11.

What type of plug sockets are used in Turkey?

In Turkey, you will encounter the Type C and Type F plugs typical of Europe. The normal voltage is 230V at a frequency of 50Hz. In some instances, power Type C plugs may fit into Indian two-pin plugs, but not three-pin ones.

    You should carry:

    • A universal travel adapter compatible with European sockets.
    • A small extension cord for charging multiple devices.
    • A power bank for long sightseeing days.

  • Q12.

Are vegetarian meals easy to find outside Istanbul?

Many cities do offer vegetarian food, but smaller towns do not have too many options. Most meals are lentil soup, rice, salad, bread, and cheese. Specific restaurants in Istanbul and parts of Cappadocia serve. When necessary, clearly let the restaurant know you do not eat meat or eggs.

  • Q13.

How early should I apply for a Turkish tourist visa from India?

Your application should be submitted at least 20 to 30 days prior to departure. It takes 10-15 working days for processing. This is longer during popular periods. The confirmed flight itinerary and hotel booking must be submitted for availing visa. Your departure should be greater than two weeks after your application submission date.

  • Q14.

Can senior citizens comfortably complete this multi-city route?

Yes, senior citizens can complete the route if they remain comfortable with moderate walking and short domestic flights. City transfers use flights rather than long road journeys. Hotels usually provide lifts in urban areas. Valley treks and steep ruins can be skipped without affecting the overall plan.

  • Q15.

What kind of travel insurance is required for Turkey?

Turkey requires valid travel insurance covering the entire stay period. The policy must include medical coverage and emergency assistance. Coverage value depends on the insurer, but Schengen-level coverage generally meets visa standards.

    Ensure your insurance includes:

    • Medical treatment coverage abroad.
    • Emergency evacuation benefits.
    • Trip delay or cancellation protection.
    • Coverage matches travel dates exactly.

  • Q16.

Is internet access reliable throughout the trip?

Yes, internet connectivity remains stable in all major cities. Hotels provide Wi-Fi access in rooms and common areas. Purchasing a local SIM at the airport provides better mobile data coverage for maps and transport booking. Signal coverage might fade momentarily in distant valley regions, but it resumes once you head back into town.

  • Q17.

Can I travel to Turkey during Ramadan?

You can travel anywhere during the month of Ramadan. Tourist sites, flights, and hotels operate normally. In smaller towns, local restaurants may change timing around sunset. Cities that receive a lot of tourists are still fully operational. In the cultural scene, dress modestly and be respectful when near mosques around prayer hours.

  • Q18.

How do intercity transfers usually work in these packages?

Intercity movement uses domestic flights for longer distances and private vehicles for short connections. Transfers match flight timing and hotel check-out schedules. Road travel generally stays under four hours for surface routes.

    The process includes:

    • Hotel pickup at the scheduled time.
    • Direct transfer to the airport or the next city.
    • Baggage handling support during vehicle shifts.
    • Drop off at the confirmed hotel entrance.

  • Q19.

Will I need cash daily, or can I rely mostly on cards?

No, while debit and credit cards can be useful in most city locations. Credit cards are accepted wherever services are available. But street vendors, taxi drivers, and market businesses might not accept cashless payments.  Carrying some Turkish Lira is recommended to cover your smaller local costs. This is perfectly illustrated by snacks, advice, or public transport tickets.

  • Q20.

Can I start the trip from a city other than Istanbul?

Yes, as long as the flight routes allow you to start your journey from another Turkish city. However, international flights arrive mainly in Istanbul. Airfare may cost more, or there may not be direct flights from India either. It's fine to end your trip in a city like Izmir or Antalya if your return flights connect well.

  • Q21.

How many days should I keep if I want a relaxed pace?

The journey through many cities should take at least ten to twelve days. This gives a complete 24-hour stay in all key destinations without mixing transit and sightseeing.  While a six-day tour would fit in one visit to Allahabad or India, it would be a more tightly scheduled visit each day and leave you with fewer free hours.

  • Q22.

    Is tipping mandatory in Turkey?

It’s not obligatory to give a tip, but we often see them in restaurants and guides. Restaurants sometimes add a service charge to your bill. If you don’t include, then five to ten per cent. When getting a cab, it is thought that you will round the price up a little to the nearest amount possible. However, it is not obliged to give a tip.

  • Q23.

What should I pack for a spring or autumn trip?

It is wise to pack layered clothing as the mornings and evenings can be quite chilly. In the interior, the days in spring and autumn are generally soft, and the nights are cool.

    Carry:

    • A light jacket.
    • Shoes are the best for walking.
    • Apparel for Visiting the Mosque.
    • Wear Sunscreen and sunglasses during the Day.

  • Q24.

If I miss a flight connection due to a delay, who manages it?

If a delay occurs in a booked itinerary, the local coordination team will change the next segment.  Alternative domestic flights usually operate the same day on busy routes. Hotel check-in timing shifts if required. Immediate communication ensures minimal disruption to the remaining schedule.

  • Q25.

Can I customise the itinerary completely before booking?

Yes, you can customise the full route before booking confirmation. You can adjust the city count, hotel category, and travel duration according to preference. Once the processing of flights and visas starts, changes are limited, and charges may apply. Final confirmation should happen after everything is reviewed as per the entire day-by-day schedule.
