The best train to take is the Rameshwaram Express which departs from Chennai Egmore station at 8:30 pm and reaches Rameshwaram at 6:00 am the following morning.

By Air: The nearest airport to Rameshwaram is the Madurai Airport, located at a distance of around 170 km. There are regular flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to Madurai. From the airport, travelers can take a taxi to reach Rameshwaram.
