How to reach

By Air- The nearest airport to Haridwar is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is about 30 km away from Haridwar. There are regular flights from Delhi and other cities to Dehradun. From Dehradun, one can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Haridwar.

By Train- Haridwar has its own railway station, which is well connected with major cities of India. There are many trains that run between Delhi and Haridwar. Some of the popular trains include Shatabdi Express, Mussoorie Express and Doon Express.

By Road- Haridwar is well connected by road with all the major cities of India. It is located on National Highway 58 and there are regular bus services from Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Chandigarh, Lucknow and other cities. The drive from Delhi to Haridwar takes around 5 hours.

By Water- Ferry services are also available from Rishikesh to Haridwar. It takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Haridwar from Rishikesh. There are also boat rides available from Rishikesh to Haridwar.

Climate and best time to visit:

The climate in Haridwar is humid subtropical with hot summers and mild winters. Summers in Haridwar are from April to June and are hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 45°C. June is the hottest month with temperatures reaching up to 45°C. The monsoon season runs from July to September and brings heavy rainfall. Winters in Haridwar are from October to March and are mild, with temperatures ranging from 8°C to 20°C.

The best time to visit Haridwar is between October and March when the weather is pleasant. The temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold and the humidity is low. This is the best time to visit the temples and ghats in the city. The monsoon season should be avoided due to the heavy rainfall.
